About a month ago, the kids and I were looking for something to get us out of the house.
We decided on driving to a coffee shop downtown and ordering curbside pickup. The kids usually order Pink Drinks or Frappucinos from Starbucks, but being a local coffee shop, this place had a different menu. Italian Cream Soda seemed like a safe choice for them to try, since they weren’t feeling particularly adventurous. Within a few minutes we had creamy, slightly fizzy, sweet treats in hand. I had forgotten how much I enjoy an Italian Cream Soda until I snuck a few sips from each of the kids’ cups.
Our afternoon adventure turned into a three-days-in-a-row routine. By day 4, I decided to figure out how to make these at home. I placed an order for the syrups we like, and quickly had everything to make these delicious drinks at home. An entire liter of syrup costs less than one trip to the coffee shop!
To make these at home, you’ll just need:
Our Raspberry Vanilla Italian Cream Soda tastes very similar to a creamsicle, but with berry flavor rather than orange. This recipe is easily customizable, so if you want to swap out the raspberry flavor for something different, you can! We’ve also been making a coconut vanilla version, and recently added cherry syrup to our collection (perfect for making Cherry Cokes, too).

Raspberry Vanilla Italian Cream Soda
- 8 oz club soda
- ¼ cup heavy cream
- 1½ tbsp vanilla syrup Monin brand or similar
- 1 tbsp raspberry syrup Monin brand or similar
Fill a tall glass halfway with ice.
Add vanilla syrup and raspberry syrup to the glass.
Pour in the club soda, then add heavy cream on top.
Gently stir and enjoy!
